Sizewell C Park and Rides
HDS Lighting was appointed to undertake the electrical and lighting design for the proposed Sizewell C Park & Ride facility, supporting one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.
The challenge
The proposed Park & Ride facility brought together lighting, operational buildings, welfare facilities and EV charging within a coordinated electrical network. Multiple stakeholders, phased construction and incoming supply constraints shaped the brief.
Our approach
HDS developed a low-voltage distribution design from the incoming utility supply, coordinating distribution equipment, cable routes, protective devices and the site’s electrical loads. The external lighting design used LED luminaires, with equipment and controls considered alongside maintenance and operational requirements.
The outcome
The completed design package coordinated the lighting and electrical infrastructure needed for the proposed facility. It gave the project team a defined basis for installation planning and phased delivery, with interfaces and future requirements considered together.
